What Can I Expect

Rock climbing in Kent is a fantastic way to have fun, get fit and be in the great outdoors! These rock climbing sessions take place outdoors on the Kentish sandstone near Tunbridge Wells.

We are offering four-hour Climbing Taster Sessions and more in-depth, full-day Introduction to Climbing courses. Experiences are ideal for beginners, as well as those who have climbed in a gym and want to conquer real rock - and all without having to buy your own technical gear, as it’s all provided for you.

During the four-hour session, you will cover all the basics such as belaying (rope techniques), safety awareness and practical climbing skills, as well as being introduced to bouldering.

The full-day course runs through all the main techniques needed, as well as delving further into the sport of outdoor climbing, covering things like climbing etiquette, route selection and more in depth techniques. You’ll also have a lot more time to tackle more routes, with increasing grades and challenges.

The experiences take place at the popular Harrison’s Rocks, a rare outcrop of sandstone crags attracting climbers from all over Kent and the South East. The rocks reach over 40 feet in places and provide over 550 different routes.

The climbing instructors are all really good at encouraging you. They give clear, easy to follow instructions and (literally) help you find your first foot and hand holds on those sandy rocks.

All courses in rock climbing in Kent are tailored to your ability, so it doesn't matter if you have future ambitions of climbing a 4000m+ alpine mountain, or just want to give it a go to test yourself and see if you can do it.

Whatever your motivation, the fully qualified, friendly and enthusiastic instructors will ensure you have a great time learning how to climb in Kent.
