What Can I Expect

Ariel Atom ‘blast’ and ‘thrill’ experiences in a supercharged version of the Ariel Atom. We are offering vouchers for three or six-mile drives at your choice of circuit from a nationwide list.

As the maker Ariel says: 'No roof, no doors, no compromise' which pretty much rounds up what the Atom is all about. Amazingly this car is also road legal, despite the lack of what you might call the usual modern motoring refinements - and even some of the basic accessories too.

For example, the switch for the headlights is verging on comical when you try to go from dipped to full beam. And the lights themselves pretty much only serve to illuminate your feet. If the optional windshield is fitted, it's by no means going to stop the breeze, which comes in from the side and the front of the Atom.

So what makes the supercharged world of the Atom so special? Well, until you've experienced one for yourself, it's difficult to describe, simply because there is no other car out there like it. It's more like a go-kart for the street than a convertible. And even the elementary task of getting in and out of the car can be a bit of a palaver, but luckily the removable steering wheel helps!

Once ensconced as snug as a bug in a rug inside the cockpit, you aren't just a driver of this car, you are this car. The driver/car relationship is pretty fusional when you're strapped in low and can see tarmac all around you, thanks to that distinctive exoskeletal frame.

And the driver feedback! You will feel every bump, every camber, every tiny morsel of gravel you roll over in this car. It’s very hot to handle, so your in-car pro instructor will make sure you drive safe and stay safe in this supercharged Atom, driving at speeds to suit track conditions, traffic and your ability.

• Minimum age is 17
• You must hold a full driving licence and take this with you on the day

• Maximum weight is 19 stone

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to attend
• Dogs are not allowed on site

Anything Else

• Optional Collision Waiver Indemnity is available to purchase at the venue at an extra charge
• Food and refreshments are available to purchase on site
• Participants must arrive one hour before their session start time
• Limited gears may be used in the Atom for health and safety reasons, based upon a professional instructor’s assessment of the driver’s ability at the time - taking into consideration such things as track conditions, other vehicles out on circuit
