What Can I Expect

The Audi R8 V10 plus vs the Audi R8 - which one will you prefer? That's the million dollar question on this experience that'll see you driving both if you go for the Audi Battle voucher. If you prefer to go solo you can do too, with an Audi Thrill experience to test drive the V10 only.

So you've got two Audi R8s. Are they really that different that us non-professional drivers would even notice the variations on driving them? Well, the V8 is considered the 'entry level' (as if!) R8 but many aficionados consider this to be the more lively model, like an enthusiastic and excitable young buck, whilst the V10 has a serious amount of brute force, like a proud stag leading the pack.

In both cases you'll find the cars amazingly easy to drive. If you are just cruising the city streets you'd soon appreciate that the R8s behave themselves very well and are really rather restrained, but get them out on a race track and they can literally be let off the leash to go wild on the tarmac, yet all whilst not being intimidating.

Indeed, the V8 handles like a dream (thanks to that Quattro technology) and the 4.2l engine has plenty of power and torque. But, step into the V10 and it is subtle, but the higher spec is definitely there. Not forgetting this is the Plus version, this all means a lot more onboard kit as standard, more torque and more power too.

With an extra two cylinders just behind your head, just touching the red start button to kick start this Audi into life is an eyebrow raising moment, as the engine briefly blips to 2500rpm with a burst of that distinctive engine note, as if to make everyone within shouting distance of this car aware that the Audi R8 V10 plus is coming. So there's your cue, it's time to step up to the mark and take this top-spec car for a spin.

You will drive for six miles in the Audi R8 V10 Plus and another six miles in the V8 if you choose the Battle option. Experiences last around two hours in total and spectators are very welcome to head along to the track of your choice to watch (and hear) the automotive fun.
