It’s the Best of British Pop at the London Cabaret Club! London’s lovely Bloomsbury Ballroom is the permanent home of this celebrated cabaret club, one of the most successful and renowned in London and this is your invitation to join in the fun with their poptastic tribute show.Lighting up the London nightlife scene, the latest production from the club is a high-energy cabaret show taking a look back at Britain’s pop scene over the decades. Step back in time as you watch the cabaret acts on stage, accompanied by a live band, entertain you with all the best of each period in pop culture and music. The club vibe starts in the 1960s when the skirts were getting shorter and the bob was the hair style to have. Would you have been Team Beatles or Team Stones, or were you more Motown? This was the swinging sixties and whether it’s your era or you were far too to young to remember, no-one can deny it was the start of a revolution for young people!Moving on you find the bell-bottom flares of the 1970s, when the trendy streets of London’s Carnaby Street were filled with mods, rocks and punks. Music was eclectic and full-on, from the likes of the Bay City Rollers at one end of the scale, to Johnny Rotten being rebellious at the other. This Bloomsbury cabaret captures all the changing times in song and dance. But if there’s one era that absolutely defines pop music it’s got to be the 1980s. Those hairdos, those clothes, those moody poses - the 80s had it all. Fuelled by the likes of Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet, it was the time of teenage angst and the New Romantics. And all this is perfectly portrayed on stage during your cabaret night in London. As for the 90s, what can we say. Brit pop ruled the charts, everyone was talking about Cool Britannia and the Spice Girls’s Girl Power burst onto the scene with bright lippy and high-kicks in leopard skin catsuits. Again, if anyone can pull off a tribute to this era it’s this Cabaret Club in the capital, with its West End-style production values and staging.Ending with a nod to the best pop anthems of the Noughties, the performers leave the London cabaret club stage to raucous applause from you, the audience. The stage then becomes a dance floor, with a DJ spinning the tunes and dancing until late. What a way to round off your night of all round entertainment!
