What Can I Expect

A classic Emmerdale Village tour - perfect for fans of the ‘original version' of the show. If you liked your soaps in the 70s, 80s and 90s, you'll love these trips to Emmerdale, which pay homage to the long-running ITV evening soap opera.

These guided tours offer a fabulous insight into 'old' Emmerdale. You will be harking back to the bygone era when the show was still called Emmerdale Farm for this trip. Setting off from Leeds city centre, a luxury coach will take you around some of the spots in lovely Yorkshire used for filming, starting with going past the TV studios, where the interior scenes are currently set.

Filming for the exterior scenes for Emmerdale was done in the picturesque and very real village of Esholt for 22 years, but word has it that shooting there became almost impossible, as so many Emmerdale fans were visiting the village. The solution was to build a closed set at Harewood Estate, but on this tour you'll be visiting the original Emmerdale village of Beckindale at Esholt.

So it's back to classic times, when Annie Sugden was the farmer's widow running Emmerdale Farm in Beckindale with her three children. All the talk was about lambing season and everyone met for a pint at the Woolpack with Amos and Henry. On this guided Emmerdale tour you'll see all these familiar sights at Esholt and you'll even have time to pop in for a pint at the pub that played the role of the Woolpack, which was the heart of the farming community.

You will also be taken to Otley, which has doubled for market town Hotton since 1972. You even get to see the original Home Farm buildings, which are near Leathley and Moira Barton's Butlers Farm.

After a fun, informative and fascinating tour of the original Emmerdale filming locations, your coach will drop you back in Leeds near the railway station. If you're an older generation Emmerdale fan, you will be beside yourself with glee on these tours.
