What Can I Expect

Bridges, boats and more with these Tower Bridge packages! You'll enjoy a full day out in London with tickets to the Tower Bridge Exhibition Experience and full-day travel on river boats included, with the option to add a table for two for afternoon tea at an International hotel too.

With all its grandeur, Tower Bridge has to be the most famous bridge spanning the River Thames. You might think an exhibition all about a bridge might be boring, but Tower Bridge is steeped in utterly fascinating history and visitors of all ages will love it. The exhibition gives you unprecedented access behind the scenes and you will actually be going inside those distinctive towers of the suspension bridge.

Quite literally the highest highlight of this exhibition is the moment you step out of the lift (or do the stairs if you're brave!) onto the famous glass-covered walkways suspended between the towers. You'll be at a vertiginous 42 metres above the water and the views up and downstream of the Thames are amazing.

Once you get to the south side of the bridge make sure you head to the engine rooms. This is a separate little building next to the main structure. It houses the pristine, original coal-fired steam engines that used to power the hydraulic system for opening and closing the bascules (that's the proper word for the 'wings').

Now all controlled remotely and electronically powered, the bascules open around 1000 times a year. The 'Bridge lift times' are published on the Tower Bridge website detailing the tall ships, cruise boats and other vessels that will be passing, if you want to time your exhibition visit with Tower Bridge opening.

Having seen the inside of this famous structure, where better to get a good look at the exterior than on the Thames itself? That's where the next part of this inspired Tower Bridge exhibition package comes in - your 24 hour river boat ticket. The pier is right next to Tower Bridge's exhibition entrance on the north bank.

And to round off your day out exploring London from the river and walking the suspended walkways of the Tower Bridge Exhibition, why not add on an afternoon tea? Your table for two for scones and tea will be waiting for you at the Novotel London Bridge. A great value, full day out in the capital.
