What Can I Expect

Try skydiving in Cambridge for the ultimate adrenaline rush. The sky's the limit as you let gravity take hold and you plummet from 10,000ft to the ground below.

Based at Chatteris Airfield, located near the beautiful city of Cambridge, this skydiving experience offers lucky punters the opportunity to take the plunge either in tandem with a qualified instructor, or solo with a Level 1 Accelerated Freefall (AFF) skydiving course.

For anyone wanting to experience the magnificent English countryside from a different perspective, skydiving over Cambridge and the surrounding landscape has got to be one of the most spectacular ways of doing so.

After arriving at the aerodrome, you'll be briefed on key skydive safety techniques, before taking to the air in a high-speed, high-capacity aircraft for your very first jump. For tandem jumps you will exit the plane at around 10000ft. You'll be strapped securely to your own skydiving instructor who will deploy the parachute at a height of 5,000ft, allowing you to soar majestically over the tranquil scenery of Cambridge below.

You'll then land safely to the cheers (and perhaps sighs of relief) of the watching spectators, who can observe your bravery from a safe viewing point on terra firma. If you'd like a memento of your Cambridge skydiving experience, you can also opt for a freefall cameraman to accompany you in the sky for your dive, catching every second of excitement on film for you to take home and treasure.

If you're feeling more adventurous, consider taking an Accelerated Freefall (Level 1) course. For this two day skydiving extravaganza, you'll spend the first day on the centre's basic training course, before progressing on the second day to performing your very own solo skydive over the Cambridge area, accompanied in the air by two instructors. Should you wish, this training course then allows you to continue to AFF levels 2-8, culminating in an accredited, internationally-recognised skydiving qualification.

Skydiving from Cambridge is a way of seeing this part of the south-east like never before and is sure to be an experience that will keep you coming back for more 'blue skies' days (that's seasoned skydiver talk for have a good jump!). Or, if there's somewhere else you'd like to see from a different point of view, take a look at our offering of skydiving and parachuting activities nationwide.
