What Can I Expect
Book onto the Agatha Christie London Tour and immerse yourself in the captivating and intriguing world of the Queen of Crime! These two-hour walking tours around central London shine a light on the hugely successful murder mystery author Agatha Christie.
The talented creator of characters such as Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot is the world’s best-selling author, having written 66 detective novels, a great many short stories and plays too. Dame Agatha led a fascinating life and these tours lift the lid on her life, loves and writing.
Starting at Euston, your Agatha Christie expert host will guide you on foot around the capital to see the places that inspired and often featured in her famous ‘whodunnit’ books.
One of our favourites is the University College Hospital. During both World Wars, Agatha worked in the dispensary, which is where she gained her detailed knowledge of poisons that she put to very good use in her books and plays.
And talking of plays, you’ll see the theatre that is home to The Mousetrap, the world’s longest running theatre play, which has been showing in London consistently since 1952, which was, of course, written by Christie.
From the influence her second husband, the archaeologist Max Mallowan, had on her writing, to the impact of the famous Detective Club of mystery writers that came together in 1930, there’s so much to discover about Agatha Christie’s London.
We all love a good murder mystery story ( Murder on the Orient Express and The Body in the Library are absolute classics!) and this gently-paced walking tour of London will uncover the best of Agatha Christie!
