What Can I Expect

Blacksmith experiences come to Cornwall! Half and full-day courses at the smithy on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula near Truro, hosted by skilled blacksmith Ronen.

This traditional workshop is located right on a creek of the River Fal, in a tranquil and very picturesque spot, at the end of a country lane off the road to St Mawes - and it’s the perfect place for a blacksmith course!

On these half and full-day experiences, you will be welcomed by Ronen, who is a passionate and incredibly skilled craftsperson. His background as an architect means he has a keen eye for detail and design, with his exquisite forged pieces that are both decorative and practical.

You will be making one forged piece on the half day, with time to make two on a full day experience. You will be using traditional techniques to handcraft something lovely like a fire poker, bottle opener and so on.

You’ll need to come dressed for working (it gets hot and pretty dirty in the workshop with all that heat and metal around!) and long sleeves are a must. Workshops are suitable from the age of 10 years, as long as teens are accompanied by an adult.

A stunning setting, excellent tuition and the chance to forge your very own piece to take home with you; we think these blacksmithing experiences on Cornwall’s Roseland peninsula are a winner!
