What Can I Expect

Rock climbing in Bristol at a unique setting! These half-day, fully-guided experiences will see you climbing the routes in the Avon Gorge, with the incredible Clifton Suspension Bridge as your backdrop.

With the number of routes available, these sessions are suitable for everyone from absolute beginners, to climbers with experience, as there is something for every level of climber. The area 'Idleburger Buttress' is well-known in the Bristol climbing community, offering spectacular climbs all year round.

All the technical gear you need to climb is included in these packages. That’s to say, helmet, harness and rock shoes too. The organisers will make sure you get a kit list before the day of your activity, so you can come prepared to scale the heights.

And they are some heights! The limestone and red sandstone rock faces of the Avon Gorge reach up over 30 metres above the river of the same name. And the busy A4 trunk road runs right alongside too, which means you can look down (if you dare!) on all those cars in miniature.

As well as amazing views and top-notch tuition, there’s the sense of satisfaction you get when you conquer your fears. Whether you make it all the way to the top, or simply go as far as you feel comfortable with, it’s always an achievement to be proud of - and when you go rock climbing in Bristol, you'll love abseiling back down too!
