What Can I Expect
A Canoe & Camp Adventure on the River Dart! These wonderful two-day expeditions will see you paddle from Totnes to Dartmouth, with an overnight riverbank camping stop - all guided and hosted by your expert canoeing instructor.
These two-day trips are organised by the team of outdoor adventure specialists. They know these tidal waters well and have local insight on the best places for camping. They are also excellent instructors and will coach you on your paddle techniques as you go.
Setting off from the lovely market town of Totnes, you will head towards the estuary of the river in your canoe. There’s lots to see along the way, from National Trust houses, beautiful gardens, riverside inns and tons of wildlife.
Before the sun goes down on your day of canoeing, you’ll moor up your canoes and make camp for the night on the banks of the River Dart. Gathered around the campfire, you’ll prepare your supper and eat together. Tranquil and convivial, it’s a lovely way to spend the evening after a relaxed day of canoeing.
The next day, after a simple camp breakfast, it’s time to put your canoe back in the water and continue your journey. Your expedition ends back at Totnes, having spent a night under the stars in this lovely corner of the South Devon coast-meets-countryside setting.
These canoe and camping River Dart adventures are suitable for those aged 12 years or over, making them a fun overnight excursion for friends, couples and families alike.
