City Cruises boats depart every 20 to 40-minutes (according to the season) and they sail 365 days of the year. They operate from four key London piers and you can use your 24-hr Thames river pass travel to travel and from them all.

On the north side of the river, Westminster Pier is perfect for the Houses of Parliament and the Cabinet War Rooms. Whilst on the opposite bank is the London Eye, with direct access to all the attractions, hotels and eateries in the area - and a short walk to the arty South Bank quarter too.

Further downstream, there's a pier at Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress (Tower of London to us lay folk!). This is where you can see the red-suited Beefeater guards, admire the Crown Jewels and learn about its history from Royal residence to prison.

The furthest stop on the City Cruises route map of the Thames is at Greenwich, which you must make time to visit, as it is a part of London that has a lovely village feel to it and boasts the Cutty Sark in permanent dock.

There is so much to see and do in London and you can spend all day getting to know the capital, using the river as your base and primary mode of transport.

When Is It Available

• The earliest departure time available is 10:00 and the latest is 18:00
• Note that your 24-hrs starts from when you board your first boat and continues to the same time the next day
