The Drive
- Drive the new-style Land Rover Defender
- Welcome and safety briefing with your professional instructor
- 1:1 in car tuition from a professional instructor
- Experiences take place on a purpose built 4x4 course
- Tackle steep climbs and descents, side slopes and challenging slippery slopes
- Two hours behind the wheel which can be shared between two junior drivers
- The car is fitted with full dual control pedals, including an accelerator
- If your child can't reach or operate the pedals the instructor can operate, leaving the child to simply steer
- Up to two passengers may accompany juniors for their experience (one must be an adult 18+)

The Camp
- Overnight break at the famous CoCo's mountain top basecamp
- Your guide will help set up camp before leaving you to enjoy your adventure
- Sleep in the unique Tentbox XL set up on top of the Defender
- Relax around the private firepit before climbing up the tentbox ladder when its time for bed!
- You guide will return at 10:30 the following morning to help pack up and take you back down the mountain
What Can I Expect
Kids and grown ups - pack your sense of adventure for this amazing Defender camping and junior 4x4 driving experience in Powys, mid-Wales.
This package, for two children and two adults, gives the kids two hours driving a Land Rover Defender (with the grown ups in the back!), followed by a night of wild camping for all of you in a tent on the actual roof of the car.
Yes, who knew Defender camping was a thing? The very clever Tentbox system fits on the Land Rover’s roof and even comes with its own ladder so you can climb in, snuggle up and go to sleep in a tent atop a Landy!
Before all that, the kids will have the fun of driving you around for a couple of hours. The drive time can be shared between the two children and they will tackle everything from steeps and deeps, to the famous elephant steps and the seesaw at this Powys 4x4 course.
You’ll then head a few minutes down the road to a very special place near Llandrindod Wells. A whole 140-acres of this 400-acre farm is dedicated to wild camping. You can pretty much set up camp where you like. There’s plenty of space to spread out, with incredible Welsh country views for all.
The Defender team will ensure your Tentbox is set up for you and provide you with a firepit (perfect for toasting those marshmallows under the stars), before leaving you to enjoy your overnight wild camp adventure.
The next morning, the team will be back to take down the Defender’s Tentbox. All you need to do is bring the basic sleeping things so that you can enjoy that junior 4x4 session, followed by a night at this exceptional Powys farm location sleeping on top of the car!
