Travelling on a vintage bus is great fun. Everyone toots and waves as you go on by. You’ll be trundling along the country roads from various North Nottinghamshire pickups, to travel to the home of Ecclesbourne Valley Railway at Wirksworth.

At this point, you’ll transfer from the classic coach to the steam-hauled train. As you ride along the Wirksworth to Duffield line and back, your journey is filled with nostalgia harking back to the bygone age of steam trains.

And of course, there’s your lunch onboard! A plentiful ploughman’s platter will be served, with things like delicious thick-cut ham, cheeses, chutneys, pork pie and hard boiled egg, with salad on the side.
