What Can I Expect
Enjoy a vintage bus ride to Ecclesbourne Railway for a steam train roast dinner! These regular Saturday and Sunday day trips depart from various pick up points around north Nottinghamshire and are, quite frankly, a super day out!
It’s all aboard the old-timer coach for the first part of your day excursion. You’ll head west through former mining towns and villages to cross into Derbyshire as town turns to country and the Peak District unfolds before your eyes.
On arrival at Wirksworth, you’ll disembark the vintage bus to step onboard the waiting steam train (we told you this day was good!). The Ecclesbourne Valley heritage railway runs the line between Wirksworth and Duffield and it’s a delight.
As if this day of vintage transport couldn’t get any better, you will be served a three-course roast dinner at your table onboard the Derbyshire Countryman. Roast topside of Derbyshire beef, homemade Yorkshire puddings, gravy and roast tatties are all on the menu. Yum.
After your round steam train trip along the Ecclesbourne Railway, the vintage bus will take you back to your departure point.
