What Can I Expect
Zero emissions flying on the electric aircraft experience in Coventry! Take off for a 30-minute flight in an all-electric Pipistrel Velis Electro light aircraft for a lesson with a difference.
The Velis is the world’s first certified, 100% electric light aircraft. We’re talking whisper-quiet flying, which is simpler, cleaner and smarter. What’s more, Pipistrel has designed and built the Velis specifically as a training aircraft, making it the ideal choice for these trial flights.
You will be taking off in the Velis from Coventry Airport, just south-east of the city. Once airborne, you’ll be treated to fabulous views of the surrounding Warwickshire countryside - safe in the knowledge that you aren’t adding to the pollution problem!
During your 30-minute aerial adventure, there will be time for you to ‘take control’ and actually fly this electric plane yourself. Nothing beats the feeling of flying for the first time, when it’s you handling the aircraft. You’re sure to love it, as the Velis Electro is smooth, forgiving and agile in flight.
You will be with a fully-qualified instructor pilot for your flight. They will talk you through what will happen and guide you throughout your experience, from pre-flight checks on the ground, starting up and taxiing (silently) down the runway, to take off and landing back down smoothly and emission free.
And if you happen to be accompanied in the plane by Geoffrey the cuddly Giraffe, the flying school donates £10 to Great Ormond Street children’s hospital for every flight he takes, so he’s a very worthy passenger!
