What Can I Expect
Ride the Highlands when you hire an electric bike in Glencoe! We have vouchers for full and half-day rentals from the Woodlands activity centre in Ballachulish - and yes, they are e-bikes so you get a helping hand when it comes to pedalling!
The setting for these Glencoe bike hires is stunning. You’re in the heart of Argyll, surrounded by lochs and mountains. And what’s great about these rentals is that you have direct access to bike tracks and trails from the activity centre where you collect your bike.
One of the most popular cycle routes to follow is the Caledonia Way. From the woodlands, the route stretches 40-miles to the popular coastal town of Oban, winding through woods, alongside lochs, remote beaches and through nature reserves.
A route highlight has to be Castle Stalker at Appin, which is a great excuse for a stop, as you take photos, pop into the gift shop and maybe even the pub.
Another popular pick for these self-guided tours is to hop on your e-bike and head into the Glenachulish woodlands behind the centre and climb to the viewpoints overlooking the spot where Loch Linnhe meets Loch Leven. Neighbouring Kinlochleven is a fantastic place to stop for lunch, with lots of places to eat.
In this part of Glencoe you’re on off road trails for bikers and walkers, with just a few crossing points over roads. And, somewhat surprisingly, much of the Caledonia Way is fairly flat, so with your electric bike you will eat up those miles with ease!
Everything you need is included in your electric bike hire in Glencoe, with a fancy CUBE electric bike complete with a handy storage pannier, helmet, bike lock and route maps too. All you need to do is dress for the weather and be prepared to be wowed by the amazing views as you ride.
