What Can I Expect

Fire engine driving - your chance to get behind the wheel of an actual fire appliance! These fabulous experiences by Everyman Racing are available at over five different locations.

A fire engine is big. It's 10 metres long and 3.5 metres high. Fully loaded with things like ladders, cutting equipment, 2000l of water, Godiva pump, hoses and nozzles, a Dennis fire truck weighs in at 17 tonnes, so no wonder you need an 8.3l engine under the cab to get it going when the emergency call outs come in.

The cab has a surround console for the driver and one passenger, whilst behind is the main crew cab. You'll notice all the gadgets, gizmos, finishes and touches - right down to the bright yellow grab-handles and the red seat belts. Everything about this appliance spells emergency service!

And yes, all the switches on that extensive dash do work. So with your strobes on and your two-tone horns going, it's your time to drive this fire engine.

After an in-cab briefing, you'll have 15-minutes to negotiate your way through slaloms, technical bits and manoeuvres, including a spot of reverse parking. No easy feat, when you've no rear mirror to look in and you'll be relying entirely on the myriad of door mirrors.

And don't underestimate the performance of these tenders - there'll be some serious power and torque under your feet, with a satisfying roar when you accelerate.

We are offering great value weekday and flexible anytime vouchers for these fire engine driving experiences at Everyman track locations. It's a really popular activity (and we can totally see why!), so don't delay, buy today!
