What Can I Expect

An exclusive Dambuster flight in a top-spec, executive helicopter for six passengers! We are offering vouchers for 20 and 30-minute tours from various take off points around the Peak District to follow in the flight path of 617 Squadron.

And of course, it’ll just be your private group and the pilot in the helicopter. The voucher price is for up to six passengers and you can invite fewer people if you wish - perhaps for that ultimate romantic gesture!

On the 20-minute Dambuster flight, your helicopter departure point is Moor Farm near Buxton. Your flight path will most likely include Chatsworth House and the wild and wonderful Mam Tor on your way over to the famous Derwent Dam.

Opting for a 30-minute private tour gives you the choice of departing from Buxton, Owler Bar or Glossop for your flight. Your flight from Glossip will head over the Bleaklow and Kinder on the way over to Derwent, rather than the usual Chatsworth route.

Reaching the wonderfully picturesque Hope Valley, you’ll soon spot the twin-towered Derwent Dam, which stands proud at the southern end of Derwent Reservoir (it's Hawden Dam at the northern end!). The views are incredible from the air, especially if the water is cascading over…

Just take a moment to drink in those views, whilst thinking what it must have been like for those young pilots flying low-level over the dam, practising with the ‘bouncing bombs’ ready for that incredible mission in 1943 to the German Ruhr.

All is peaceful around Derwent today and you’ll see hikers and sheep around the reservoir, rather than WW2 aircraft on Dambuster practice missions!

On your return to base, celebrate and commemorate your exclusive Dambuster flight with a glass of bubbly and/or delicious artisan chocolates that will be presented to you.

Suitable For

• Minimum age six
• Under 12s must be accompanied by a participating adult
• Maximum height 6ft 6ins
• Weight restrictions: maximum 15 stone*  please see anything else section

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to attend and watch your take off and landing with plenty of great photo opportunities

Anything Else

• Photo ID and proof of address will be required on the day
• Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety along with the comfort of fellow passenger
• You must enter passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and date of flight experience it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
• All passengers will be weighed before flight and if disparity exists between weight disclosed and actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be illegible to fly
