What Can I Expect
Flying lessons over East Anglia in light sport aircraft! Take off from Beccles Airfield and discover the sheer joys of flight in these modern aeroplanes that are easy and fun to fly.
You will be taking your trial lesson in an Ikarus C-42 light sport plane, which is the perfect choice for recreational flyers. They look just like traditional light aircraft, with side by side seating inside the fully-enclosed cockpit.
So, what's the advantage of having lessons in a light sport aircraft? Well, this enthusiastic East Anglian team will confirm that the C42 offers excellent value for money, keeping the cost down when it comes to owning and maintaining a plane. This means lessons in a C42 are totally affordable, when training for your National Private Pilots Licence (NPPL). Beccles airfield is also home to helicopters and gyroplanes.
And that's the ethos behind everything this club does. They want as many people as possible to experience the enjoyment of flying - especially when the views over the Suffolk and Norfolk countryside and beaches are so good.
We are offering 60 and 90-minute flights in the C42 from Beccles. During that time you'll not only see some amazing sights (all pointed out to you by your knowledgeable instructor pilot), you will also have the chance to take the controls yourself.
The quiet airspace around Beccles means that flight paths are pretty flexible. And you can cover a lot of ground in 60 or 90 minutes, so you could be flying over Great Yarmouth's famous seafront, cruising over the Broads or soaring over the fields of Suffolk.
There's so much to see when you take a flying lesson out of East Anglia's Beccles Airfield - and we think you'll love the C42 too.
