What Can I Expect
Flying lessons out of Perranporth Airfield on the North Cornish coast! Buy your vouchers for 30, 45 or 60-minute flights out of this historic aerodrome between St Agnes and Perranporth.
We often say that former RAF-airfields are ‘steeped in history’, but Perranporth goes one further as it is one of the best-preserved WW2 airfields in the country!
At ex-RAF Perranporth, the control tower is original and, when you take off on your lesson, you’ll be able to spot the bunkers and air raid shelters dotted around the airfield, all dating back to a time when Spitfires were flying in and out day and night.
No such drama today, thank goodness, but Perranporth is still a very bustling place, hosting everything from drag racing and car shows, to fly-ins - and your flying lesson experience, of course!
You will be taking off in one of the school’s four-seater aircraft, such as the Piper Cherokee. Your flight instructor host will be up front alongside you and, if you’d like, you can invite someone to sit in the rear seats as a lesson observer as you fly.
What we love about these flying lessons at Perranporth is the fact that they are geared to you. So if you fancy heading over the glorious St Agnes heritage coastline and coves you can, or perhaps you prefer to stay inland and see the rolling countryside and villages? Either way it's views, top-notch tuition and plenty of hands-on time at the controls all the way!
