What Can I Expect
Your invite to an autumnal foraging course in East Sussex! Join host Phil to forage the private forest near Hellingly on this brilliant hands-on, two-day course.
The experience includes wild camping in the forest overnight. You are also more than welcome to come the night before the course starts to set up camp so you're ready for the first workshop the next morning.
Basecamp for your foraging is an expedition tent area with kitchen, shower, toilet and plenty of space for you to all gather round and eat the fruits of your labours together in the most convivial way.
But before you sit down to eat, you'll need to forage for your supper! This quiet corner of East Sussex is filled to the brim with wild edibles - you just need to know where in the dense forest to look and when.
This is where your expert forager guide comes in. Highly experienced and well-travelled, Phil will lift the lid on just how plentiful Mother Nature can be, especially in autumn. Heading out as a group into the forest, you'll be gathering wild berries, plants, fungi and more.
Back at base, you'll participate in the preparation and cooking of the edibles you've harvested. Again, you'll learn a lot about eating food that's sustainable, 100% local and totally in season. Phil will also add in some wild caught fish and/or meat for you foraged meal.
This foraging course in East Sussex runs over two consecutive days and dates are in the autumn, when the berries and other forest edibles are at their best. Book your place and see how you can be a forager in the wild!
