What Can I Expect
Formation aerobatics - the art of two or more aircraft flying together in synchronisation. That's the definition, but what's it like to actually be in the plane whilst flying in formation? These incredible experiences let you find out…
The two of you will be going up in separate planes at the same time. Your highly-skilled instructor pilots will put the planes through their paces in a mesmerising routine worthy of any air show - and you'll be witnessing it all from the passenger seat.
It's a case of high thrills guaranteed for these unique flights. Experienced display pilots can fly as little as one metre apart during routines, moving in harmony to create stunning aerial displays for the air show crowds gathered below, who are wowed by the sequences of complex and impressive aerial manoeuvres.
Just imagine taking off with your fellow flier not far behind in the second plane. As you climb to altitude, you'll easily be able to wave and give each other the thumbs up. Then a moment later one of you might well split off to appear above or maybe underneath the other! What?!
The potential to experience negative and positive G forces is very real with these flights. As a duo, you'll be owning those skies over Cambridge, performing perfectly timed and in-time moves such as loops, barrel rolls and wing overs. Be sure to keep those hands on those shoulder straps if your pilot tells you you're going for a stall turn. It's a pretty mad move that's always a crowd pleaser!
You both will be flying in Extras, one of the world's most popular aerobatics aircraft. You're in excellent hands, as this is a world-renowned academy specialising in aerobatics training for pilots from around the world who want to compete or take part in displays and shows.
The great thing about flying formation aerobatics is that the pair of you can egg each other on to get in the aircraft, get up there and have the absolute time of your lives performing incredible aerial moves side-by-side.
