What Can I Expect

These four-seater helicopter lessons are available at a selection of helipads and airfields around the UK. We are offering 20, 30 and 60-minute lesson vouchers that are valid for all the locations listed.

The big advantage of taking a lesson in a larger, four-seater helicopter like the Robinson R44 is more room inside the cockpit. That means, with the pilot instructor's agreement, two lucky guests handpicked by yourself will be able to travel as observers in the rear seats of the helicopter. The fee for doing this is payable locally to the training school.

It's really worth doing because whilst you get to sit up front and fly the thing, your guests get the honour of being your passengers! And why not invite those who brought the experience for you in the first place, as a nice thank you gesture?

Whomever you bring along for the ride, they will love it. If you've never been in a heli before, it's quite an amazing experience. Totally different from your big airliners and light planes, there's just something about rotary aviation which gives you a unique sensation - especially at take-off!

The R44 has been the world's best selling general aviation helicopter every year for decades. It's renowned as the ideal trainer, as it is easy to fly, stable and reliable. Your training will be on a one-to-one, private basis with a CAA-approved instructor.

It's worth noting that time spent in the cockpit on your experience counts towards your pilot's licence if you go down that route.

Remember your voucher is valid for your pick from all available locations around the country. So whether you go local and fly from a helipad near you, or head further afield, it's going to be amazing views and flying skills all the way on your four seater helicopter lesson!

Suitable For

• Minimum age 12
• Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
• Maximum weight 133kg
• Maximum height 1.98m

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome and may take photographs
• Up to two observers may also share this experience at an additional cost of £25 for one or £40 for two payable direct to the flying school (This will be at the discretion of the pilot and subject to combined weight restrictions)
