What Can I Expect

Glider lessons in Denbigh at Lleweni Parc airfield! These instructional experiences are all about the waves, ridges and thermals at a unique Welsh setting in the heart of Denbighshire.

These flights will be operated by a Twin ll Acro, which is a modern, two-seater glider that is a veritable delight to fly. It has a tandem seat configuration, which means you will be sitting one behind the other in the cockpit.

You will be towed up by a tug plane to around 3000ft above the Denbighshire countryside and then released. Then it’s the wonderful sound of silence as you soar through the air. Simply glorious…

As soon as it is safe to do so, your pilot instructor will hand the controls to you and it will be you flying the glider - and the feeling is amazing.

North Wales boasts some unique conditions for glider flying including ridge runs, the Snowdonia wave and incredible thermals, which is why this club exists. It's run by passionate pilots who want you to experience flying out of Denbigh in their wonderful glider!

Your total flight experience time is about 30 minutes, during which time you will learn how a glider works and the basics of the controls. All lessons are tailored to you and a 30-day membership to this vibrant Denbigh glider club is included, so you can go back for more!
