Try your hand at kayaking in Warwickshire on the lovely River Leam at Leamington Spa! We are offering you the choice of a two-hour taster session, or a full day paddle. Both are suitable for beginners and those with some kayaking experiences and all the gear you need is included.

The Leamington Spa kayaking centre is British Canoe Association Quality Marked, with fully qualified and passionate British Canoeing (BC) instructors onboard and ready to take you paddling on the Leam. Before you get started, your instructor will have a chat to discuss any previous experience you may or may not have, so sessions can be tailored to ensure everyone has fun.

On the taster sessions, you'll begin with a paddle out on the boating lake. This is the ideal place to get started, as you can quickly build up confidence in your kayak on the calm and shallow waters. From here, you can launch into the River Leam itself, which winds around Leamington Spa's pretty town centre, meandering through the Victorian Gardens and the Nature Reserve.

For those paddlers booked in for the full day kayaking experience in Warwickshire, you'll be exploring further along the River Leam, setting off from St Nicolas Park and out past Warwick Castle. All the training and tuition is included, with the extra thrill of being able to head off on a longer trip out. If you're up for it, you can even have a go at 'running a weir', to add an extra little thrill to your day of kayaking!

You can also ask to undergo the British Canoe assessment for the 'Paddle Discover Award' at the end of the full day kayaking day. If you pass, you get yourself a certificate recognising your basic kayaking skills as just reward for all your paddle practice.

These kayaking sessions in Warwickshire run throughout the main summer season between April and October on weekends. What we love about these experiences is that they all take place just a stone's throw from Leamington Spa centre, so it's really easy and convenient to get to, yet once you're out on the Leam, it's so tranquil!
