What Can I Expect

Head over to Headcorn for your flying lessons! We are offering vouchers for flights in an Ikarus light sports aircraft for 30, 45 and 60-minute lessons, as well as a landaway experience.

Situated in the heart of Kent, Headcorn Aerodrome is the ideal location for trial flights. It's easy to get to, there's lots going on and it's in a beautiful corner of the country too. What more could you ask for from your flying lessons?

Headcorn Aerodrome is also steeped in history. From the early beginnings in the 1920s as Shenley Farm Airfield, through the days of being RAF Lashenden during the Second World War, this airfield has lived through a lot and seen a lot.

Even today there's certainly a lot going on at Headcorn. There's the parachuting school and the Air Warfare Museum, which is filled to the brim with fascinating artefacts all with their own story to tell of wartime Britain. There's even a bar (Wings) and a cafe (the Holding Point) on site too, both popular with pilots and visitors alike.

For these flying lessons you'll be in one of the aerodrome's Ikarus light sports aircraft. Classed as microlights, but with all the comforts, they are great trainer aircraft. If you're up for it, there will be plenty of time for you to have a go at the controls.

And we have to say, the views are brilliant too, as Headcorn is sandwiched between the High Weald in the south and the Kent Downs in the north.

As well as the 30, 45 and 60-minute lessons, we have the landaway, which we will see you fly to Manston, stop for a break and perhaps visit the Spitfire and Hurricane museum and then fly back to base - two take offs, two landings! Book your flying lessons in Headcorn now!
