What Can I Expect
Helicopter lessons near Burton upon Trent! We are offering vouchers for 30 and 60-minute lessons out of Tatenhill Airfield with this friendly helicopter training school based on site.
Tatenhill is a great little place to fly from. Well-placed just west of Burton and easily accessible from the A515, the airfield is operated and run by the resident flying club, which has been at the airfield since 1987.
The helicopter crew and school based at Tatenhill is small and perfectly formed. Offering a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere, it's a great training facility, attracting budding pilots who want to get their helicopter licence.
Your experience will be run as a lesson, which means you get lots of ‘hands-on' time at the controls learning how to fly this Schweizer S300CBi. These distinctive-looking, two-seater helicopters were originally designed for the US Army as training helicopters and training is still the main use today.
It's quite an unusual sensation being in a helicopter, let alone flying one yourself. After flying around the local Burton on Trent area, you'll head back to Tatenhill to give hovering a go. There's quite a knack to it, but to be able to hover is what makes helicopters so much fun!

- Participants will need to be physically able to get in and out of the helicopter, not restrict control movements and be able to fasten their seat belts
