What Can I Expect
All aboard Charlie Croker's Coach Tours - you're going Italian Job bus driving! This is your chance to drive a replica of this iconic bus from the original (and best) Italian Job film. We are offering driving sessions at a selection of track day venues for you to choose from.
You know the bit in the film when the Mini Coopers loaded with gold drive up the ramps of the moving bus? That was a 1964 Bedford bus. It had been specially adapted and reinforced to have opening rear doors and ramps - and the stunt was done for real.
Of course, after Charlie and the gang unloaded the gold and pushed the trio of Coopers out of the bus to tumble over the edge of the mountain (sacrilege!), they all thought they were home and dry with the loot. Only they hadn't counted on all those hairpins on their Grand Saint Bernard pass getaway route. And you all know how the film ends - quite literally on a cliff-hanger.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Italian Job, some very inspired bods decided to recreate the famous trip from Turin to London. A standard bus was converted to hold three Minis and used exactly the same ramp system. The Italian Job bus you will be driving is this amazing tribute bus and it's brilliant!
Apparently the actual bus used in the film ended up back in service in Scotland after its starring role in the Italian Job with Michael Caine and crew, before it was scrapped. This remake stays totally faithful to the original and even sports the actual number plate - ALR 453B.
Whilst you won't be tackling any scary mountain hairpin bends on this Italian Job bus driving experience, you will be out on the specially designed course with some tricky tasks including a reverse challenge. Let's see if you handle the bus better than 'Big' William who lost control with all that gold on board. Buy your Italian bus driving voucher online, we reckon Charlie Croker would agree it was a great idea!
