What Can I Expect
Learn photography in the Lake District! These weekend workshops will immerse you in the wonderful world of landscape photography in and around the likes of Ullswater and Derwent Water.
Suitable for all levels of photographer, all participants on this course will benefit from the individual tuition offered by expert photographer Alan Ranger. Even when you are part of a small group, the teaching is bespoke to you, as Alan will cater for your particular area of interest, or the aspects of landscape photography you wish to improve on.
And we have to say, the subject matter for the weekend is truly exceptional. The Lake District is probably one of the most photogenic places in the country. Vast, wide-sweeping vistas, the reflections on the water, the moody misty lake scenes and incredible colours that change with the seasons. It really is a magical place for anyone into photography.
These extended Lake District weekends focussing on photography start with a location shoot on Friday. Later in the afternoon, you'll then head off to check into your accommodation, which will be a hotel or B&B with breakfast included, in the north lakes area, which is a great base.
All travel whilst you're in the Lakes is included and Alan makes all the arrangements for lunches and evening meals out (payable locally). Indeed, heading out for a meal together after a day of shooting out and about is a great chance to chat, review the pics you have taken and discuss the next day's itinerary.
Of course, you will need to bring your own camera with you and Alan supplies a kit list so you know what gear is essential and what could be useful to take. If you're travelling from afar, you can even arrange to arrive one day early at your accommodation, ready for the location shoot the next morning.
By the end of your photography weekend in the Lake District you'll be capturing scenes worthy of printing and framing to hang on your wall!
