What Can I Expect
Experience the wonders of microlighting in Northumbria! Fly from this friendly airfield north of Newcastle and get a taste for flying in a flex-wing microlight.
You're spoilt for choice with 30-minute, 60-minute and the special ‘Big Adventure' three-hour flights available. You will be getting airborne over Northumbria in a flex-wing, which means the cockpit is completely open to the elements. You'll be treated to spectacular views - Beadnel Bay from the air has to be seen to be believed!
Indeed, you don't have to be in the air very long around these parts before you're looking down on some of the key Northumbrian tourist sights, with coast, country and plenty of castles all within your flying range.
Warkworth Castle and Alnwick Gardens could be in your sights on your 30 minute trial flight. The 60-minute experience could see you heading to Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh Castles via the coast. One thing is for sure, these Northumbrian itineraries certainly show off the best of the county!
The ultimate microlighting experience in Northumbria has been dubbed the 'Big Adventure'. You'll fly from Athey's Moor to another airfield, have a very civilised stop for tea and cakes, then fly back to base.
