What Can I Expect

Meet the miniature donkeys of Balsall Common on this super cute Donkey Walking experience near Solihull! With those big fluffy ears, big inquisitive eyes and their affectionate nature, you can't help but love these gorgeous donkeys.

Florence, Storm, Thomas, Gracie, James II and Bertram will be waiting to meet you. They are all living their best donkey lives on the farm in Balsall Common. It's a lovely place in the middle of the countryside, not far from the bright lights of Coventry and Birmingham.

Your trained handler host will introduce you to the gang and you'll make friends over a nice spot of grooming. Donkeys adore all that and they love a cuddle too. It's a great way to get to know the donkeys and then pick your favourite to take with you on your walk.

Or rather, the donkey will pick you. And indeed, it's more like your donkey takes you for a walk, as it's always done at their pace. Which is usually a nice, relaxed amble. In fact, we should have called this experience human walking for donkeys, but they don't have credit cards to buy the vouchers from us!

So off you go. You might well stop off here and there for a bite to eat (the donkey, not you). You are sure to slow down to bray a little friendly ‘hello' to some of the other residents, namely the rescue ponies and the re-homed sheep. And you might even spot some of the wilder visitors, including foxes, buzzards and deer.

As you meander through the fruit-filled orchard, across the main field and along the woodland trails, you'll be bonding with your new BFF donkey as you walk. • If juniors do not feel comfortable leading a donkey they can share a donkey with a participating adult
