What Can I Expect

Get on a roll when you go mountain boarding in Hertfordshire at this outdoor adventure centre near Ware! These taster sessions are ideal for first-time mountain boarder kids and adults alike, from the age of six years old. 

Mountain boarding is like snowboarding, but on grass. You don’t need any snowy hills to mountain board, just a grassy slope. And that’s where this family-run centre comes in. On a former farm estate, there’s plenty of rolling Hertfordshire countryside for boarding down.

These experiences, ideal for beginners, will teach you the basics you need to mountain board. In essence, it’s all about learning to stop safely, control your speed and not just hurtling straight down, but being able to do controlled turns.

After starting on flat ground to get used to what being on the board feels like whilst standing with your feet in the bindings, you will then move on to the gentle slope, where you’ll learn how to start off and stop.

Once you’ve got that cracked, you’ll be trying some heel and toe-side J turns, putting pressure on your heels or toes to turn and then finish uphill. After that, it’s ‘just’ a case of liking those turns, so you snake down the hill on your mountain board looking mighty cool!

All the gear (board, bindings, helmet, knee and elbow protection) is included and a mountain board instructor will be with you to coach and encourage you to go from hero to zero during your mountain boarding experience at this friendly Hertfordshire location.

When Is It Available

• Available on weekdays and weekends throughout the year
• Sessions are generally available between 10:00 and 17:00

• Maximum age 65
• All under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult
• Comfortable outdoor clothing and covered in footwear should be worn
• Not suitable for those who are pregnant
• Riders must be capable of climbing/descending stairs unaided

• Spectators are welcome including supervised children

• There is a large car park
• Wheelchair access to the site and an outdoor seating area
• Hot and cold refreshments are available for purchase on site
• Other outdoor activities are usually available for visitors including a huge aerial adventure park, axe/knife throwing (additional fees apply direct to venue)
