What Can I Expect

Be a PADI Bubblemaker! Calling all 8 to 10 year olds - this is your chance to have a taste of what being a scuba diver is all about! Available at dive centres and pools around the country, these scuba experiences for kids are perfect for taking those first breaths underwater.

As long as your little ones are comfortable in water, they can give kids scuba diving a go. No previous experience is necessary and all the gear (which is specifically for younger children) is provided.

And of course, the kids will be under the watchful eye of the PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) leaders, who will be teaching these classes for kids.

The idea of the PADI Bubblemaker programme is to give children an introduction to scuba diving in a fun and safe way, with them being taught the basics of diving, using hand signals, breathing and swimming in shallow water (no more than two metres deep).

All dressed up in the weight belt with their scuba unit and mask, the youngsters love learning about how the regulator works so you can breathe underwater and understanding things like why divers roll backwards into the water and don’t go feet first.

Those first few seconds of being underwater and being able to see and breath are always magical. It feels like you’re floating in space!

Don’t forget, these vouchers are just for two kids aged between 8 and 10 years to enjoy a PADI Bubblemaker experience at the scuba dive centre of their choosing. They’ll absolutely love it! Kids over 10 years and adults, we've got the main PADI Scuba Taster session for you!

When Is It Available

• Scuba diving UK sessions run throughout the year, on selected weekdays and weekends
• Dates and times available vary according to the centre used

Suitable For

• The Bubblemaker activity is open to anyone aged eight years or over, (kids over 10 can take part in the adult version)
• You must be comfortable in the water and able to swim
• Scuba diving UK for adults: suitable for ages 10+, under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
• To scuba dive safely you should not be extremely overweight or out of condition
• Your respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health
• A person with coronary disease, a current cold or congestion, epilepsy, a severe medical problem or who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not dive
• If you have asthma, heart disease or other chronic medical conditions you should consult your doctor before participating
• A medical statement will need to be completed prior to taking part in any scuba diving lessons
• You will need to take swimwear and a t-shirt to wear in the pool

Spectators

• As all scuba diving UK locations are different, please check when booking regarding spectators, but as most learn to scuba dive workshops take place at indoor pools with good facilities
• Spectators are usually welcome
