What Can I Expect
Peak District sightseeing in style by helicopter with rides from various locations around Derbyshire and Yorkshire! We are offering the 20-minute ‘Dambuster Run' and the extended 30-minute helicopter tours, which see you heading further over the Peak District, with various flight paths according to your departure location.
Seeing the pretty little villages, feature-packed countryside and glistening ‘Dambuster' reservoirs in and around the Peak District National Park will be on your flight path, giving you the perfect bird's eye view of it all.
Let your expert pilot show you the best of the Peak District. Look down on stone farmhouses, rolling countryside, cute villages, fast-flowing rivers and quaint market towns. There is so much to see. A highlight has to be Chatsworth House, one of the most famous sights in the Peak District.
Another spot to mention is your flypast over Mam Tor. You'll discover exactly why this 517m-high hill's name means 'Mother Hill'. There's the hill standing proud in front of you, whilst various landslides over the centuries have created mini-hills encircling it. And truly spectacular it is too when seen from the air!
The pinnacle of any Peak District sightseeing flight has to be the moment you explore Ladybower with her dams and the Ashopton Viaduct. As well as being impressive feats of engineering, this Y-shaped reservoir has played quite a large part in modern history…
That accolade is thanks to a certain bomb of the bouncing variety, which was tested here by 617 squadron. We won't divulge any more, as your pilot is sure to tell you all about the Dambusters, as the helicopter takes time to hover over Ladybower and neighbouring Howden and Derwent. All that remains for us to say is enjoy Peak District sightseeing helicopter flight!
