What Can I Expect

Fancy pottery painting in London? The Token Studios at London Bridge offers these fun experiences that see you selecting a piece of pottery to decorate in your own personal style.

In the arches under the railway lines running into London Bridge station, you’ll find the Token Studios. It’s all about creativity and giving it a go at these bustling and dynamic studios. Teaching is kept to a minimum, it’s all about you rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in!

For these painting sessions, you’ll be able to pick a pottery item from the studio shelves. It might be a plate, a vase, a bowl or a mug. And whilst the form is there, it’ll be looking rather bland...and that’s where you come in.

Using the watery glazes, you’ll be able to apply colour and design. It could be applied with brushes as delicately as a watercolour painting, or you perhaps use sponging to get a rather nice effect on the clay. It really is up to you.

It’s also worth noting at this point that these experiences are BYOB, so bring your own glasses and a bottle of vino or bubbly that you can share with your group whilst you paint your pots!

You can then take your painted piece home with you, or you can leave it for the studio team to fire and you can pop back to collect it in a couple of weeks (you'll need to pay on the day for this).

If you’ve never tried pottery painting before, these London Bridge are a fun way to have a go, especially when you head along with a group of friends or family to enjoy it together.
