What Can I Expect

Fun with the clay on these pottery workshops in London! Spend a couple of hours making and painting your very own pot at the Token Studios in London Bridge.

These experiences are ideal for beginners and in particular small groups who want to give pottery a go and maybe try something new on a day out with family or friends. All the material you need is included.

Donning your potter’s apron, you’ll be shown to the throwing area, where there are lots of potters’ wheels lined up ready for you. The set up at this London studio means you’ll be standing at the wheel to throw your clay.

You’ll have enough clay to shape a small pot. Your tutor will show you the basics and then it’s over to you to give it a go. If you’re struggling, they’ll be on hand to straighten those wonky sides if needs be!

Finishing touches done, you’ll then head to the painting station. This is where you apply watery glazes to decorate your hand-crafted creation and your chance to get those artistic juices flowing.

You can then choose to take your pottery masterpiece home with you, or leave it at the studio for it to be fired (fee payable locally for this). You can then make an appointment to go back to the Token Studios to collect your piece a couple of weeks later.

What we love about these pottery workshops in London is the fact it’s BYOB - that means you and your pottery buddies can bring a bottle of bubbles (or whatever you fancy) to share whilst you’re showing off your best pottery moves!
