What Can I Expect

Discover RHS Garden Hyde Hall with these blooming wonderful gift packages for two! As well as your entry tickets to the wonderful gardens at Hyde near Chelmsford, you will also get a map and a colourful guidebook, which is a lovely memento of your RHS day out.

Hyde Hall was originally a farm, perched on the rolling hills just south-east of Chelmsford in Essex. The labour of love to transform it from arable land to gardens was started in 1955 by the landowners Dr and Mrs Robinson.

And what a splendid job they did! Donated to the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993, the 360-acre estate has been lovingly kept by the gardeners and volunteers, with many projects being undertaken to help extend this heavenly place on earth.

Your tickets give you full access to all the public gardens on the Hyde Hall estate. It's fairly hilly, but make sure you take your time to visit all corners of the estate, as it is very much worth it. There is so much to see!

From bird hides and bold planting, to the waterlily pond and woodland areas, it really is a very peaceful and inspiring place. The botanically curious will love the Global Growth Garden, filled with vegetable varieties from around the world.

And make sure you head up the hill to the innovative ‘Dry Garden', which is bursting with drought-resistant plants. It's also where you'll find the garden's restaurant, boasting lovely views.

With the Winter Garden, Kathleen's Lake, the Robinson Garden (in homage to the original owners), the Cottage Garden, a cool children's play area and lots more to explore, there's plenty to keep visitors of all ages to RHS Garden Hyde Hall entertained.
