What Can I Expect
Join Hugh and friends on an online River Cottage cookery course! These at-home cookery classes are hosted by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and his team of talented chefs, based at River Cottage HQ in Devon, a working, organic, small-holding farm near Axminster.
We are offering two levels of learning for you. The ‘Expert' is a fully-interactive training course, which leads to the River Cottage cookery diploma, whilst the ‘Peer' is perfect for enthusiastic home cooks who want to expand their culinary repertoire with teaching from the best.
Both courses follow the same curriculum. That's to say, 12 differently-themed modules, each one containing four lessons. They are all broadcast-quality programmes, professionally produced and filmed on site in the River Cottage HQ kitchens. All you need is a tablet or laptop with internet or 4G/5G access to join in the online training.
Choosing the ‘Expert' option gives you direct access to the tutors, who will assess, mark and feedback your assignments, which all leads to your qualification. Whether you go down the diploma route or not, the aim for all students is to complete the course, which will then provide the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to cook tasty, seasonal and sustainable dishes.
Hugh is well-known for his TV shows, cookery books and newspaper columns. He, along with his fellow River Cottage cookery chef tutors, is passionate about good food. The focus is on the provenance, sourcing and seasoning of the ingredients, to create attractive and flavourful food that doesn't have to cost the earth in every sense of the word.
Sign up for these brilliant River Cottage cookery courses and you'll be searing, charring, filleting, foraging and lots, lots more from your own home. The expert chefs will impart their culinary skills and knowledge, all in that inimitable friendly and accessible River Cottage style.
