What Can I Expect

Cars, buses and trains on the Roads & Rails trip in Derbyshire! A fabulous day out that includes return travel by vintage bus to a superb car exhibition and to a steam railway for a return trip with food served onboard.

This coach company’s usual business is charters and holidays in modern, executive coaches. But we love the fact that they also have Ernie, Walter and Ethel, the three fantastic vintage buses that proudly complete the fleet. Any one of these classics will take you out on your day trip.

First stop for you is the Great British Car Journey in Ambergate. With its industrial history, the Derwent Valley is a great location for this living car museum, which celebrates this country’s automotive industry from 1900 to the modern day. Strolling around the cars is a veritable journey through time in British motoring!

You’ll then hop back on the vintage bus to head deeper into the Peak District to visit the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. You’ll be departing from Wirksworth Station on a return, steam-hauled excursion along this delightful heritage railway line.

And whilst you’re onboard enjoying the Derbyshire views and the plumes of steam, you’ll be served a traditional Ploughman’s Lunch at your table. Cheese, pickles, crusty bread and maybe a bit of pork pie, that sounds like the perfect accompaniment to a day of buses, cars & trains!
