What Can I Expect
Skid control training in County Durham brought to you by the people at Paul Swift Precision Driving! We have one and two-hour private lessons at the team’s base just south of Darlington.
Skidding in a car when you don’t want or expect it to happen can be a scary thing. But when you are on a pan to deliberately put the car into a skid, it’s great fun. And, of course, learning what to do to get out of that skid situation is also very useful!
The instructors at this County Durham centre are all very, very experienced behind the wheel. Their careers as precision drivers has led them to do fantastic stunts and shows all over the world, but they still love coming back home to Darlington and teaching newbies how to skid.
Using one of the school’s fleet of Ford Focus STs (or a similar high performance hatchback) fitted with special tyres, you’ll head out onto the skid pan for your bespoke training session.
You’ll see just how easy it is to lose control of the car and how you need to react to regain it. There’s definitely a knack to it, but when you start to feel the moment the car is skidding and know what to do, it’s very satisfying!
Indeed, these skid skills learnt on the pan could serve you well the next time you get into a skid on the public roads. And it’s at that moment you’ll be thanking the Paul Swift Precision team for your top-notch skid control training at this County Durham driving venue!
