What Can I Expect
Small-group skid pan experiences near York! We are offering vouchers for one or two-hour sessions to learn how to get into and (more importantly) out of a skid situation with these shared experiences.
Just off the A1(M) in the countryside between York and Wetherby, you’ll find this motorsports centre. The team who will be hosting your event specialise in skid pan experiences and have created a specific area for it at the centre.
The first thing to note is that you will be driving standard cars at this venue near York. No cradles are used, you will be out on the low grip surface of the pan, which means skidding will happen all too easily - and you have to get yourself back in control!
The sessions are offered for small groups, with three students per car and a maximum of two cars on the track.
Your hands-on experience time at the wheel is combined with classroom time, where you learn how skids happen and how things like weight transfer affect skidding, as well as oversteer and understeer.
Out on the pan you will take turns to put into practice what you’ve learned. And when you’re not driving, you will be a passenger, listening to the onboard hints and tips. All instructors are fully qualified and experienced, with many doing rallying and racing too.
We think these one and two-hour shared skid pan experiences give a really good taste of what getting a slide on in a car feels like and what to do about it!
