What Can I Expect

In strength and honour let the Gladiator Softsword Games begin! Sword fighting meets fencing with these fun combat experiences using softswords, when you go head-to-head in the arena against your opponent.

All would-be gladiators will be kitted out in full padding (think replica armour) for these softswording sessions. As well as being armed with your softsword weapon, you’ll also carry a softshield to protect yourself and deflect those blows.

After a ringside safety briefing, it’s time to let battle commence. Each bout is three minutes long and believe us when we say that you’ll be exhausted by the end of your stint in the arena, as it’s pretty physical stuff!

And it’s not just a question of physique and sheer strength. All the best gladiators have a game plan, so you know when to attack and when to defend. Quick and light on your feet, let’s see if you can stave off your opponent and stay standing.

Taking place at pop-up venues in Portsmouth and around Hampshire, these softsword gladiator games are fun and full on. We are offering vouchers for three-bout experiences to see if you will be crowned elite gladiator. Contact us if you get a gang of eight or more together, as we can organise a private gladiator games tournament for you!
