What Can I Expect

Get into the swing of things with these Charleston dance lessons in London! We have vouchers for you to join a Charleston workshop for three hours of dancing and fun in the beating heart of North London.

These classes are actually solo Charleston lessons, which means there’s no need for a partner, so there’s absolutely no pressure and no need to be shy. Everyone gets up on the dancefloor together to learn the classic Charleston moves.

Generally held once a month in a Saturday afternoon slot at a community centre in Islington, it’s a very socially inclusive class that will be filled with dance, great exercise and dazzlingly joyful music that is sure to make you smile.

With the enthusiastic dance teachers, you’ll soon get the hang of that basic ‘step with twist’ Charleston swing move. Add in some style and swivel and you’re starting to really get your swing on!

Charleston has its roots in African dancing and evolved amongst the Black communities in the South of the US before being popularised across the world.

And we have to say, the playlist for these Charleston dancing workshops is pretty epic. It’s lively, filled with bright and sunny songs, with lots of classics that you’ll know, as you hark back to the roaring 20s and the heyday of the Charleston.

Friendly, sociable and fun, these solo Charleston dance lessons are just a hop skip and a jump from Angel tube station in North London and they're a great way to meet like-minded people and dance!
