What Can I Expect
Welcome to the Ted Lasso tour of Richmond! “Be curious, not judgmental”, as the perennially positive football coach himself would say, when you go on this guided tour in honour of the Emmy-award winning Apple TV+ show.
You will meet your host and guide at Richmond train station, in the heart of the south-west London suburb that, in the hit TV series, is the home of AFC Richmond, the English football (or soccer) team that Ted Lasso comes over from Kansas in the USA to manage.
Of course, the American football coach is like a fish out of water, as he tries to get to grips with the rules of the game (just what is offside anyway?). Rebecca Welton, brilliantly played by Hannah Waddingham, wants him to fail, as she only ended up being owner of the club after her bitter divorce…
Luckily, Ted soon realises you can achieve a lot with a smile, kind words - and biscuits. This two-hour walking tour is as upbeat and positive as the magnificently moustached manager himself, as you discover the filming locations in and around Richmond.
Yep, that’s right, many of the pub and street scenes on the show were actually filmed in Richmond. You will visit Ted’s favourite Crown & Anchor pub, take a selfie by his front door, see the bench where he had his heart to hearts and even see where Rebecca’s bad double date happened.
This Ted Lasso Richmond tour is a must for Tedheads. As well as learning lots about the ‘behind the scenes’ of the much-loved series, you are sure to fall under Richmond’s charm. Good feelings and Ted vibes all around!
