What Can I Expect

Tiger Moth formation flying - a true sight to behold in the skies above Norfolk! And you two will have the best seats in the house, as you fly alongside each other in the cockpits of a duo of vintage Tiger Moths in flight at the same time.

These two wonderful classic Tiger Moth aeroplanes will be ready and waiting for you at Yarmouth Heliport (North Denes) near Caister. Once safely onboard in that open cockpit, you'll be ready for the take off.

Formation flying is a highly skilled operation. Communication, understanding and coordination are all required to ensure you occupy the airspace together - and safely. That's why you've got the best of the best when it comes to the pilots for these formation Tiger Moth flights.

So, one last little thumbs up between you both and you're off. Bouncing down the grass runway, you'll feel the wind in your face, as your Moth pulls up and into the air.

And here comes the formation bit. Your two Moths will be circling the airfield flying alongside each other. You'll be so close that you'll easily be able to see your partner in formation flying grinning at you. It's a unique and amazing feeling, flying so close together in these vintage biplanes.

You'll then break off separately, so each of you can have a little lesson in flying. This is the moment you will be encouraged to take the controls and it will be you handling the Moth! Exciting stuff.

To round off your 30-minute flight, you'll be treated to an exhilarating aerobatic move. Hold on tight!

The two Moths will then come back together to fly in formation around the airfield and come into land. This is a truly thrilling experience to be shared without moderation. And don't forget, the price is for the two of you to go up at the same time in two Tiger Moths, flying in fantastic formation. 

When Is It Available

• Flying season is generally late-April to the end of October
• Flights generally operate Monday to Thursday with one weekend date per week
• Normal flying time are between 10:30-16:00
• All flights are weather dependent but don't worry if your flight is cancelled you can rebook for a convenient time

Suitable For

• Minimum age 14
• Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
• Maximum weight limit is 18 stone
• Height restrictions: minimum 4ft 11ins, maximum 6ft 7ins
• You need to be agile enough to climb in and out of the aircraft

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to watch the take off and landing
