What Can I Expect
Wet and wild white water tubing in Northampton! We are offering 1.5-hour sessions at the Nene Whitewater Centre to ride the rapids in, what is essentially, a big rubber ring! Suitable for all ages from just 7 years, it's a fantastic water sport for all.
You'll be tubing on the white waters of this purpose-built course just southeast of Northampton's city centre. It is actually the UK's first manmade water sports course and the flow of water is controlled with three pumps. So if you're a tentative beginner tuber, the water will be set to be less squally.
The ‘tube' that you'll be riding in (or is it on?) is like a big inner tube (hence the name), but they are actually specially manufactured tubes for riding white water. They're great fun and it's a crazy, bouncy, bumpy ride all the way down the 300m-long course.
These experiences are based on time, rather than number of runs. So, within your time-slot on the water, you'll get plenty of opportunity to do several descents. One thing's for sure, you will definitely be getting wet. Drenched in fact. But that's all part of the fun.
Facilities at this centre are really good. There are hot showers (much appreciated after a couple of hours of throwing yourself down a fast-running river of water on a rubber ring!) and changing rooms. There are also lots of viewing areas for spectating and a really good on-site cafe too.
Being just off the main A45, this white water tubing centre is easy to get to from all over Northamptonshire and there's lots of free parking too. Time to open the sluices and get out on those rapids as an intrepid tuber! A fab day out for all the family or groups of mates.
