What Can I Expect

Meet Gillian and Chris. They'll be hosting your wine tasting in Yorkshire - at their very own winery!  Yorkshire Heart vineyard produces award-winning wines, made from grapes lovingly grown on the 17-acre estate. This experience is an invite for two to enjoy tasting the wines, whilst listening to the owners tell their story. You can also add an afternoon tea or lunch option too.

Back in 2000, Chris and Gillian started planting vines in their garden. By 2005, the couple had produced their very first bottles of Yorkshire wine. Having found the perfect site for growing vines at the sleepy village of Nun Monkton, the duo set about growing grapes commercially. They planted thousands of vines. Today there are over 12,500 vines of different varieties that make up the Yorkshire Heart estate.

As the pair admits: 'It has been a slow, but wonderful process, full of incredible highs and lows due to the good old English weather'. It's certainly a fascinating journey and the couple loves telling the story so far during your wine tasting. As you sample the wares of the vineyard, you'll learn lots about what it takes to set up a family wine business in Yorkshire, with many anecdotes too.

This family is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to wine; from tasting it, to making it in their beloved corner of Yorkshire. As you munch nibbles, you'll sip on the latest wines the vineyard has produced. Your tasting takes place in Yorkshire Heart's 'Wine House', which is the vineyard's dedicated visitor centre.

If you opt to add a dining experience, you can choose the voucher with a well-earned afternoon tea, or the one with the light lunch served at your table overlooking the vines.

Wine tasting at Yorkshire's Heart vineyard is available on selected dates during the week and at weekends, throughout the year. If you love hearing a good story and are rather partial to a nice glass of vino, you will adore these experiences in the lovely Yorkshire countryside.
