What Can I Expect
Fly the ‘Wings for Warriors’ flight simulator at the ‘Veterans’ Flying School' at Gloucestershire Airport! This full-motion sim is the only one of its kind in the UK and gives you all the moves and motion of real flight - and all for a very good cause.
‘Wings for Warriors’ is a charity that gives wounded, injured and sick service men and women a future worth fighting for, by training them as professional pilots. Part of that training is on this very simulator and when you book a session, the proceeds go to them!
The simulator is a standalone, full-motion capsule on a three-axis mount. Inside are authentic dual flight controls and a synthetic Garmin G1000 glass cockpit and EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System). It’s a versatile set up, re-configurable to present several different types of light aircraft and small jets.
The ‘Wings for Warriors’ training team has invested in the latest processor upgrades from simulator specialists ‘Redbird Flight International’, ensuring the highest quality of pilot experience. Coupled with the latest graphics and real-world flight scenarios powered by Lockheed Martin’s ‘Prepar3d’ simulation system, it all feels very realistic.
And of course, being full-motion means you feel every bump in the tarmac as you taxi, every banking sensation as you turn left or right and all that acceleration or deceleration. It's thrilling stuff - especially when it's you in control.
We are offering 30 or 60-minute sessions in this very special ‘Wings for Warriors’ simulator at Gloucestershire Airport. What makes the experience even more special is the fact that when you buy time in this simulator, you will be supporting members of the armed forces to make life-changing recoveries after being medically discharged.
