Chester is a charming and welcoming city. Often overlooked by tourists heading to nearby Liverpool, Chester has lots to offer the visitor. One of the biggest attractions in the whole of the north-west is Chester Zoo - and you will be going!

Home to over 21,000 residents (500+ species) spread across 125-acres, helped and looked after by over 1000 humans and loved by nearly two million visitors a year, Chester Zoo is a must-do. Your tickets give you all-day access and with so much to see and do, you can easily spend a full day there.

If you want to see anything in particular, we highly recommend downloading the Chester Zoo GPS app and making a plan. The bat cave is a favourite with all ages. The lion enclosure is stunning. And the meerkat tunnels are really cute too. The butterfly house is magical and everyone loves getting up close to the giraffes! Make sure you take time to go on the island boat ride too.

As you'll be staying in a city centre hotel, you'll have plenty of time to visit historic Chester during your stay. Highlights include the incredible cathedral, the city walls, the mediaeval two-tier covered walkways, the Grosvenor museum and the Deva Roman interactive experience.

And of course, there are bars, coffee shops, restaurants and lots of boutique shops too. After all that exploring and fun at the zoo, you'll appreciate your comfy hotel room. Breakfast is included and rooms are offered on a shared double or twin room basis for the two of you.
